Hyderabad: Rahul Ravindran is in demand since his Telugu debut with Andala Rakhasi and he has been getting quite a few offers. Rahul was born in Chennai and had made his film debut with a Tamil film, but he now wants to concentrate more on Tollywood. He will be seen next in Tiger, alongside Sundeep Kishan and Seerath Kapoor.
“This is an interesting triangle, but not the usual triangular love story of two girls and a guy or two guys and a girl. This film is between two friends, and one of them already has a girlfriend. How it affects the three is an interesting subject,” says Rahul. Sundeep is his friend and Seerath is his girlfriend.
“This is a very big film for me. I worked with some good technicians like cameraman Chota K. Naidu and producer N.V. Prasad. This film will give me a good exposure,” adds Rahul.
The actor says that he learnt Telugu very quickly. “From my first film Andala Rakshasi, I dubbed with my own voice. When I know the language perfectly then I can get my emotions right,” he says.
“My mother is very quick in learning languages. She gave me tips and also helped me,” he says. His wife Chinmayi is also popular as she lends her voice for many leading actresses in Telugu. “Her Telugu is very pure so if I have any doubts, I ask her,” he says.
The actor got a huge hit recently with Ala Ela, and the makers are planning a sequel. He has also done a cameo in Mahesh Babu’s upcoming film Srimanthudu. “I can’t reveal anything about my character, but it was an amazing experience working with Mahesh Babu sir,” says Rahul.
It was Mahesh who had suggested Rahul for the character. “I got to know from the team that Mahesh Babu sir had suggested my name after he saw me in Andala Rakshasi. He is a focused and dedicated actor. He treats every scene as the most important one in his career. I have learnt a lot from him,” he says.
His other film, Hyderabad Love Story, is also set for release. Apart from these films, Rahul has also signed two other films as a lead actor. He has signed a Hindi film too. “It is still in the pre-production stage. I have to accommodate dates for it when it starts. Though I have signed Tamil and Hindi films, my priority and focus is on Tollywood now. I am looking for more good scripts,” says Rahul.
