Hyderabad: It is still unclear about who will direct Chiranjeevi’s 150th film, despite Ram Charan announcing recently that it would be Puri Jagannadh. Popular writer Chinni Krishna, who had earlier worked with Chiranjeevi for Indra, has been asked to prepare a story for him. “We are not sure whether he is preparing the story for Chiru’s 150th film or for another film. But he has been asked to come up with a good subject for Chiranjeevi,” says a source, when asked why Chinni Krishna was seen at Chiranjeevi’s office.

Meanwhile, director V.V. Vinayak also met Chiranjeevi a few times before leaving for Bangkok for his ongoing project with Akhil Akkineni. Meanwhile, Puri, who was supposed to direct Chiranjeevi, announced Loafer with Varun Tej, Chiranjeevi’s nephew.

According to a source, Varun wanted to confirm first with Chiranjeevi before committing to Puri as he didn’t want to be in a controversy. “Varun’s father Nagababu wanted to check with Chiranjeevi first because it was the same director. He got a green signal and only then approved Puri’s film,” says the source. Thus, Puri might not direct Chiranjeevi as he is busy with Varun’s movie and does not have the time to prepare a good story for Chiranjeevi. Moreover, though Puri is known to work fast, it will still not be possible to start Chiranjeevi’s film by August 22, the megastar’s birthday.
