Bengaluru: The Devanahalli police have arrested three people, who robbed a city-based realtor and his family at gunpoint at his house in Mahalakshmi Layout in May. It is said that the gang had hoodwinked beat police constables just before committing the crime, by dropping the name of Pavagada MLA and flashing a Vidhan Soudha pass.
The accused have been identified as Yogisha, Praveen and Shivaswamy, while the police are on the lookout for Abhishek, Sunil, Jagan and Krishna. The police recovered 230 grams of gold ornaments worth Rs 7 lakh and a vehicle used for the robbery worth Rs 8 lakh. The gang was busted after Yogisha, a habitual offender, was picked up by the beat police for moving around suspiciously near a jewellery shop in Devanahalli.
After intense interrogation, Yogisha confessed to the robbery. The police immediately arrested Praveen and Shivaswamy, who were waiting for Yogisha.The police said that the all of them formed a gang while spending time at Parappana Agrahara jail. Sunil, who is from Bengaluru, identified the houses, while others joined to rob them.
They recced the area before committing the crime. On May 3, they even went to the house of realtor Prakash Kumar, saying they were looking for Sathish, who owed them money. But Prakash sent them away saying there was no one Sathish with him. On the same night, they barged into Prakash’s house and robbed the family.
