Students protest at Head Masters’ meeting
Srinivasa Rao told teachers to make use of technology to improve skills among the students

Anantapur: Student union leaders created chaos at the regional level meeting of education officers and head masters, raising slogans demanding control over private school managements. About 10 members of the YSRC and SFI student unions staged their protest when human resource development minister Ganta Sreenivasa Rao was speaking at the meeting at a private function hall here on Tuesday. They were arrested.
However, Mr Srinivasa Rao announced that all head masters will be given tablets to connect even with the Chief Minister's Office to help improve standards at government schools. Mr Srinivasa Rao recalled that Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu was particular on improving facilities and standards in the schools. "Though, our government is facing a deficit, priority has been given to education by allotting Rs 17,000 crore in the Budget," the minister said. Mr Srinivasa Rao told teachers to make use of technology to improve skills among the students.
IT minister Palle Raghunath Reddy said the reforms in education sector along with introducing technology would give better results. Teachers should concentrate on bringing awareness among the people to get cent per cent literacy. Mr Raghunath Reddy noted that the government had successfully conducted Eamcet, Icet and other entrance tests in time.
