Kochi: Remember the bright eyes that followed Nivin Pauly throughout the college in the film Premam? The infatuation in her eyes is difficult to ignore despite Malar being the centre of attraction in the film. Her unsaid love, that follows the hero, is felt by all Malayali movie buffs and her ‘crush’ on him is being pondered over by many on social networking sites.
The doe-eyed girl, Rinza Jacob, the BSc Psychology graduate from Alwaye UC College is happy as a child with a new toy. Bubbling with joy and excitement she says that it was always her dream to appear on the big screen, but she preferred to concentrate on her studies as she knows it will prove to have greater benefits in the long run. “I have no words to tell you how happy I am. Getting noticed is secondary, being a part of such a beautiful film itself is a fantastic thing,” she says animatedly.
Rinza was one of the college students who randomly stepped into the Premam’s audition session at the college, curious to see the Neram team. “Like the rest of my friends, I had also put some extra kajal and lipstick and when my friend asked me to join the audition I thought why not give it a try. Luckily the next day, one of the associate directors told me that the director liked my acting and I should enact some scenes which has dialogues. I did it and anxiously waited for three days for their call. Finally, I got to act in the film as Anjali!” she narrates enthusiastically.
The pretty cute girl who is very talkative goes effusive about the movie team and the friendship each one of them shares with the other. “The days spent with Alphonse chettan, Nivin chettan and others were the most memorable days of my college life. I have never had so much fun in my life. Though we were acting none of my friends or I felt that we were in front of the camera. Alphonse chettan asked us to behave naturally and be the way we normally are in our classes and we did that.”
Since she is at Sharjah with her parents enjoying her vacations, Rinza had to wait a few days to watch the film, while all her friends were messaging her about her performance and the film. “Once it was released here, I went and watched it three times. I am so happy!”
Charming Rinza is now planning to pursue higher studies in Psychology and has her priorities all set. “I do not mind acting again, but I need to work with a team similar to the Premam one, the friendly and dedicated gang who makes sure an actor is in his/her comfort zone. However, I am ever ready to act again with the Premam team!” she sums up.
