Rainbow Childrens hospital to set up 3 hospitals
Rainbow Hospital currently operates four hospitals in Hyderabad
Hyderabad: City-based Rainbow Children’s Hospitals plans to set up three new hospitals in south India in the next two years. “We are constructing our second 100-bed hospital in Bengaluru. It is expected to be operational in six months. We are planning to foray into Chennai and Visakhapatnam. The work is expect to start soon and will be ready in two years,” said Dr Ramesh Kancharla, chairman and managing director of Rainbow Hospitals.
Currently, Rainbow operates four hospitals in Hyderabad with total beds of 350, one 150 bed hospital in Vijayawada and a 200-bed hospital in Bengaluru. After the southern expansion, Dr Ramesh is planning to foray into the northern in tie-up with local doctors.
“We follow asset-light model as we don’t own buildings. We are currently in discussion with doctors in Jaipur and Pune for setting up Rainbow Children’s Hospital,” he said. If the talks succeed, this would be the first time Rainbow would be setting hospitals under the joint venture model.
