AnantapurTwo SSC students, who attempted suicide at Venganapalli in Yadiki mandal on Wednesday died while being treated at St John’s hospital in Bengaluru on Thursday.
 
Another student is battling for life at the same hospital. The three students K. Chandramohan Reddy, Raja Reddy and M. Nagesh had  attempted suicide due to their poor performance in examinations. 
 
The trio was studying at ZP High School in Yadiki. The students, who were also close friends, feared the syllabus and pressure and took the extreme step. They were absent on Wednesday and consumed pesticide mixing it in soft drink at a deserted place on the outskirts of the village.
 
The locals shifted them to hospitals in Anantapur and Kurnool from where they were finally referred to Bengaluru. 
Raja Reddy and Nagesh died on Thursday morning while being treated at Bengaluru. Chandramohan Reddy’s condition is said to be serious.
 
Heart rending scenes witnessed at Vengannapalli village. Mande Narasimhulu, father of Nagesh, who is farmer in the village, lamented for trying to convince his son to complete SSC and go for higher studies. “We never expected such a tragic end of my son.” Peddapappur police registered cases. Post mortem was done at St. Johns hospital in Bengaluru and the bodies were handed over to the parents.
