Two hideouts busted, arms cache recovered in J&K

The raids were conducted based on specific intelligence

Jammu: Security forces busted two militant hideouts in Doda and Reasi districts of Jammu and Kashmir.

Acting on specific information, the troops of Rashtriya Rifles (RR) and Special Task Force (STF) of police launched a joint operation and busted a hideout in general area of Bhimal Nala in Doda district around 1230 hours on Friday, a defence spokesman said.

The recoveries from the hideout yielded one 9mm pistol with two magazines, one Underbarrel Grenade Launcher (UBGL) 30 mm, five Rocket-Propelled Grenade (RPG) grenades, five Canister Booster for Rockets of RPG, six 30 mm grenades for UGBL, he said.

In addition, seven chinese hand grenades, three AK-47 magazines, two pistol magazines, 169 rounds of AK-47, 27 rounds of PIKA, 14 rounds of 7.62 mm Sniper Rifle and 79 rounds of 9 mm pistol were also recovered, the spokesman said.

In another recovery, the troops of RR launched a search operation and busted a hideout in forest area of Deolmarg-Thinmarg in Mahore tehsil of Reasi district on Thursday, he said.

The recoveries from the hideout yielded one AK 47 rifle with two magazines and 30 rounds, two pouchs, one Yaesu Set, one blanket, two utensils and one knife, he added.

The hideout was in a natural cave which was three feet in depth and six feet wide and covered by a boulder, the spokesman said.
