Kajal Aggarwal, who shunts between the Telugu and Tamil industries, is excited about her upcoming Tamil film opposite Dhanush, Maari. And she can’t stop praising Dhanush. “He is amazing, a very chilled out person. He was very supportive especially when I had lengthy dialogues,” she says with a laugh.
Brushing aside rumours that she has been demanding Rs 2 crore per film and that’s why she has not been seen in the industry recently, she says, “They are all rumours. I demand only what I deserve. Moreover, I am acting in various languages including Hindi. So it is practically difficult to be everywhere. Though I get offers, I cannot take them because of my prior commitments. So it’s not out of choice.”
There’s also news doing the rounds that the actress was seeing an industrialist from here. “Is that so? It’s news to me! I wish I had a lover. I have no time to romance anyone. I am also not getting married anytime soon. If I am in a relationship, I will let the whole world know,” she says. So, what does she expect from her life partner?
“I have not thought about it! My options are open. He can be from any place — from Kanyakumari to Kashmir. I expect him to be caring and understanding. He should be trustworthy. Love at first sight happens only on movies. In real life it is so different! (smiles).”
Was she upset when Rajamouli, her director in Magadheera, did not cast her in Baahubali? “Not really! Of course, I was a little envious of Anushka and Tamannaah. But Rajamouli knows whom to cast in his films. I am also happy for my best friend Tamannaah.” She also says that she shares a close friendship with Amala Paul.Other than her Tamil films, Kajal has also bagged a Bollywood project, Do Lafzon Ki Kahani, with Randeep Hooda.
Apart from films, the actress is happy being the goodwill ambassador of Dexterity Global, a philanthropic organisation whose main aim is to spread education among unfortunate children of the world.
