Thiruvananthapuram: The first allotment list for professional colleges was published late on Thursday without including four medical colleges to which options were invited. This was the first time that allotments were not announced for colleges to which options were invited.

Allotments were also not announced for the 40 seats of the BTech Dairy Science and Technology programme on the Pookode campus of Kerala Veterinary and Animal Sciences University.

This was because the university could not produce the letter regarding the sanction from the part of the government.

Though options were invited to all four colleges under the Inter Church Council (ICC), the list did not include allotments to three colleges, Amala Medical College, Jubilee Mission Medical College and Pushpagiri Medical College, after these colleges could not produce approval documents from the Medical Council of India (MCI) to the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations (CEE). These colleges had earlier entered into an agreement with the government on seat-sharing and fees.

The Cooperative Academy of Medical Sciences, Pariyaram, to which also options were invited, was also not included in the allotment list as it did not submit the documents regarding their agreement with the government on seat sharing and fees to the CEE.

The only self-financing college to find place in the allotment is Malankara Orthodox Syrian Church Medical College, Pariyaram.  However, allotments will be made to the nine government colleges.

CEE B. S. Mavoji told DC that allotments were not given to these colleges as they failed to provide all details required.

However, the options submitted for these colleges would remain. These options will be considered during further phases of allotment if colleges provided all documents, Mr Mavoji said.
