Karimnagar, Telangana: The state government on Sunday announced on the 94th birth anniversary of P V Narasimha Rao that the late former Prime Minister's life history will soon be taught to students in Telangana's schools.
"The life history of former Prime Minister P V Narasimha Rao will be introduced in the syllabus for school students in Telangana state," Karimnagar MP B Vinod Kumar said.
He was addressing a gathering on the campus of Karimnagar Milk Producer Company Limited (Karminagar Dairy) here this morning after garlanding a statue of the late Congress leader on his 94th birth anniversary.
The economic reforms introduced by Rao have developed the country, the TRS MP said, adding that the earlier Congress-led government had neglected the late leader.
A statue of Rao will also be installed at a circle in Karimnagar town soon, Kumar said.
Rao, born on June 28, 1921 at Karimnagar in Telangana, served as the country's tenth Prime Minister (1991-1996). He died in 2004.
Karimnagar Zilla Parishad Chairperson Tula Uma, Karimnagar Dairy Chairman Rajeshwar Rao were among others present at the function.
