Hyderabad: Osmania University students belonging to various organisations conducted a protest outside the Chief Minister’s camp office in Begumpet on Saturday demanding that the government should intervene and set fee limits in corporate colleges and private schools.

They also demanded that the government should ensure efficient implementation of the Right to Education Act across the state and to take measures for increasing the quality of education imparted in government schools, colleges and universities.

K. Mahesh of the Telangana Vidyarthi Vedika said, “About 15 students were arrested by the police at Panjagutta before they could reach the Chief Minister’s camp office and were taken to Goshamahal stadium and released after some time. The government should take a tough stand against private schools and colleges who take donations after charging sky high fees.”
