Hyderabad: The TS government has expedited the process to takeover common institutions listed under Schedule X even as the Centre is taking measures to bifurcate these institutions between TS and AP.
Heads of departments have started the process of identifying employees based on nativity. The government plans to continue with employees with TS nativity and issue relieving letters to employees from AP in these institutions. This follows the directions of Chief Secretary Rajiv Sharma after the meeting with HoDs and the advocate general on June 25.
The AG had clarified to officials that the TS government could take over 94 common institutions located in the territorial jurisdiction of Telangana since the one year deadline, incorporated in the AP Reorganisation Act, had expired on June 2. The AG stated that these institutions could offer services to AP provided the AP government entered into an agreement with TS government and paid user charges for the purpose.
Based on this, the CS directed HoDs to begin the process of identification of employees as per their nativity, and the bank accounts and financial transactions of these institutions during the last one year.
To begin with, the TS government wants to remove AP employees working in these institutions to cut down the salary bill. The service records of every employee are being now being verified to ascertain their nativity.
Meanwhile, AP employees working in these institutions are worried about their jobs as the AP government needs to set up its own institutions to accommodate the employees transferred out by the TS government.
