Two youths held for facebook remarks
Police had arrested Yadava Manikanda last month and became first cyber crime offender
Chennai: Two youths from Chennai have been arrested by CB-CID cyber sleuths for allegedly posting indecent comments about minor girls on a FB community page created by a cyber paedophile from Tirupati, Andhra Pradesh.
The police had arrested Yadava Manikanda of Tirupati last month and soon became the first cyber crime offender to be booked under the Goondas Act.
Sleuths picked up G. Rajeswaran of Kannadasa Nagar and K. Rajesh of Old Washermenpet on Saturday night in the city. Rajeswaran has been working in a share broking company after finishing a diploma course while Rajesh is employed in a logistics firm in the city.
Both are well versed with computers, internet and social networking sites. The police action came after media reported about the existence of the page of a paedophile and an NGO also lodged complaint with the police in the first week of May.
The page had attracted as many as 3,000 likes and dozens of obscene comments by the time it was forced to close down by TN police. Sleuths of CB-CID have now zeroed in on two men who had posted vulgar comments on the community post. The police have booked them under Protection of Children from Sexual Offence Act.
