'Slumdog Millionaire' actor Madhur Mittal critical after road accident
The actor's car rammed into a stationary truck
Mumbai: ‘Slumdog Millionaire’ actor Madhur Mittal was been critically injured in a road accident that took place earlier in June, according to reports. The actor shot to fame for his role as Jamal’s brother Salim in the Danny Boyle film. He was also last seen in the Hollywood film ‘Million Dollar Arm’.
Madhur, who was driving the vehicle at the time of the accident, reportedly rammed into a stationary struck while trying to overtake it. Reports state he was immediately taken to a nearby hospital by his friends.
The actor was placed in intensive care for about two weeks. He was reportedly unconscious for 10 days, and underwent a number of surgeries after sustaining jaw and arm injuries, and clots in the brain.
After being discharged from the hospital, Madhur has been advised to take complete bed rest for the next few months. Reports also stated that the actor’s ‘Slumdog Millionaire’ co-stars Dev Patel and Anil Kapoor sent their prayers to his family.
