In fresh revelation, Congress says Dushyant got Rs 2 crore compensation

Former Union minister and senior Congress leader Jairam Ramesh
New Delhi: Former Union minister and senior Congress leader Jairam Ramesh said that the Congress had not forgotten the case of external affairs minister Sushma Swaraj, who helped Lalit Modi with travel documents.

“We have not forgotten about the Videsh Mantri. Closure and disclosure in her case is yet to come,” he said. In a dig at Ms Swaraj, he said, “Lalit Modi was helped on ‘humanitarian grounds’ grounds like hanging out with Naomi Campbell’.”

Insisting that the compromise between Hemant Singh, estranged husband of Ms Raje, and son Dushyant Singh was only for movable property, he claimed that despite much evidence produced by him, the BJP was trying to justify ownership of the property with Dushyant with “lame duck” arguments.

“He (Dushyant Singh) got compensation of Rs 2 crores, and that is a scam which needs to be investigated”, he said.
Mr Ramesh said the government and BJP were making vain attempts to disprove the “unholy nexus” between Ms Raje and Lalit Modi, their co-ownership of Niyant Heritage Hotel Pvt Ltd and the “patent illegal usurpation” of government property.

Raj has no information on Raje’s tours abroad:

Rajasthan government does not have any record about Vasundhara Raje’s foreign tours between February 2009 and February 2013 when she was the leader of Opposition in the state Assembly.

The state Information Commission has served second notice to Public Information Officer of state Assembly asking the authority concerned to be present at the Commission with the required information on January 1, 2016.

RTI activist Satayanarayan Gujjar had sought details about the domestic and foreign tours of Raje and the then Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot. While information on Gehlot’s tours and Raje's domestic trips were given, the Assembly secretariat said details of her foreign tours were not available.

Lie test for Tharoor:

Investigators probing the mysterious death of Sunanda Pushkar may move a local court seeking lie detector test on her husband and Congress MP Shashi Tharoor. Six persons, including three “prime witnesses” in the case were already put through lie detector  test and sources indicated that the police may go for carrying out the test on Mr Tharoor.

Delhi police commissioner B.S. Bassi said, he was not aware of any such move. As per the procedure, the prosecution will have to move a plea before the court seeking permission to carry out the test.
