Revanth Reddy bail temporary, asserts TRS
Those who got bail had to go to jail again - TRS MLC Bhanuprasad
Hyderabad: The Telangana Rashtra Samiti on Tuesday said bail to Telugu Desam MLA A. Revanth Reddy, in the cash-for-vote scam was a temporary reprieve as per the legal process and he would face punishment in keeping with the law.
The party also asserted that Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, too, will not escape for his involvement in the scam. TRS MLC Bhanuprasad said Mr Revanth Reddy getting bail was a temporary reprieve as per the judicial process and that he did not get a clean chit. “Getting bail does not mean he is innocent or guilty. It is a part of the legal process. Tamil Nadu CM J. Jayalalithaa also got bail, but had to return to jail and then got reprieve. Those who got bail had to go to jail again. I am confident he will be punished. In a corruption case, the maximum punishment is a 5-year jail term,” he said.
Answering a question, he said TDP leaders did not admit to visuals or audio tapes. “They committed a theft yet they try to defend it. People who saw the Revanth Reddy tape were in shock,” he said. He accused AP ministers and leaders of making provocative statements like UT status for Hyderabad, implementation of Section 8 among others to create unrest and save Mr Naidu.
