Its been quite obvious that Windows Phone users are basically the last ones to receive any major or minor update. Android handsets and iPhones seem to be the lucky ones to get the latest upgrade.

After a long wait, WhatsApp has finally started focusing on updating and introducing new features for Windows Phone for a month.  The newly launched 2.12.70.0. WhatsApp version for Windows Phones comes with a minor bug fix. This in turn will increase the functionality of the social messaging app on your Windows Phone.

WhatsApp tested the voice-calling feature on Windows Phones via its 2.12.60.0 beta version. It officially released this feature on Windows Phones, only after confirming that voice calls could be made on 2G and 3G network as well.

Interestingly, the beta 2.12.46 version of WhatsApp allows Windows Phone users to save several MP3 files in the 'Pictures' folder, instead of saving in another folder.
