Mohit Malik gets chatty about his preparation for the dance reality show Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa:

How are the rehearsals going for Jhalak?
It’s hectic especially because till the last few days I was shooting for Doli Armaanon Ki and then juggling Doli and Jhalak. It has been crazy but now I am enjoying every bit of it.

Do you have a dance trainer? Also, what dance forms you like?
I do have a dance teacher and we do a lot of free style dancing. It’s been more useful in relieving stress and feeling good. I’ve never learnt any form of dance specifically. I love Bollywood and free style. I hope to better myself in a lot of other forms through Jhalak.

Was quitting DAK for Jhalak a tough decision?
I never quit Doli for Jhalak. I always wanted to do both simultaneously and in fact I was even preparing for my role in Doli. Unfortunately, it did not work out the way I wanted it. Having said that, I must add that the channels have been very supportive.

Do you miss being part of DAK? Also, who are your friends on Jhalak?
I miss the entire cast and crew. We worked for over two years and that is a long time. But as actors we end one journey to begin another. My friends on the sets of Doli will always be my friends for life. As for my Jhalak co-contestants, we are just warming up to each other, but I’m sure it’ll be a great journey here too.

How do you feel about performing in front of a new panel of judges?
I feel exhilarated. I could not have wished for a better panel. Karan (Johar) sir adds the tadka and Shahid Kapoor will be judging us on the performance and technicalities to make our skills better. They are both highly accomplished in their fields. It is an absolute honour to be performing in front of them. I am looking forward to it.
