Hyderabad: A 35-year-old man allegedly raped a mute minor girl at a deserted place in Rajendranagar. The suspect, Md. Jafar, an autorickshaw driver, who had earlier molested another minor girl, lured the girl and took her in his vehicle to the deserted place.

Police said that the girl was also suffering from a mental disorder and the suspect took advantage of it. Locals found him dropping back the missing girl at night and alerted her parents. Jafar is absconding and the girl is now in hospital.

The girl’s parents said she was roaming outside her house on Tuesday afternoon and suddenly went missing. She came back home in the evening and locals informed her parents that they saw she being dropped by an autorickshaw driver. Later when they communicated with the girl it came out that she was raped.

“Jafar found the girl on the street and lured her into the vehicle. He took her to a deserted place in Manasa Hills and raped her. He escaped from the place soon after and dropped her near home,” said Raje-ndranagar inspector V. Umender.

After reporting the incident to the police the girl was taken to a hospital.  Doctors said that her condition was stable. Police said that since the girl was mentally challenged she could neither resist him nor raise an alarm while he got her into the vehicle.

Jafar, who is a resident of Chintalmet, was booked by Rajendranagar police for molesting another minor girl a year ago. He is now out on bail and was driving the autorickshaw. Police has now booked a case against him for rape and under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act. A manhunt is on to nab him.
