Chief Justice for mediation to solve disputes
CJ said that mediators could go ahead with resolution of cases even through Skype
Hyderabad: Stressing on the need for mediators to settle disputes through alternative dispute resolution systems, acting Chief Justice Dilip B. Bhosale of the Hyderabad HC said on Thursday that if both parties were willing, a mediator could hold meeting on Skype to resolve issues.
Justice Bhosale was addressing a seminar organised by legal services authorities and the International Centre for Alternative Dispute Resolution in Hyderabad. He added that those who are getting trained in mediation methods would be in demand in future.
Responding to a query raised by a mediator, Ms V. Durga, Justice Bhosale said that mediators could go ahead with resolution of cases even through Skype.
He quoted instances from Maharashtra and Karnataka where mediation was yielding results in dispute resolution. He said that trained mediators would be sent to remote places to reach out to parties embroiled in litigation.
