Krishnamurthy was getting many threat calls from unidentified people
BENGALURU: The Executive Engineer of Zilla Panchayat in Bengaluru Urban, M.N. Krishnamurthy, who exposed the corruption in the Lokayukta institution, is reportedly getting threat calls. Following this, the Lokayukta police have asked him to give a written complaint so that they could provide police protection.
Lokayukta sources revealed that Krishnamurthy was getting many threat calls from unidentified people, who threatened him with dire consequences if he did not take back his written statement to the Lokayukta police against Lokayukta Justice Y Bhaskar Rao’s son Ashwin Rao.
“He has been getting threat calls since Wednesday afternoon after the Lokayukta police filed FIR against Ashwin Rao. He has brought the matter to the notice of SP Sonia Narang, whom he had approached first to make startling revelations about the in-house corruption in the Lokayukta,” a source said.
“Following this development, we are thinking of providing police security to Krishnamurthy. However, it is possible only if he gives a written complaint. We will ask the city police to arrange security for him once he files a written complaint,” the source added.
When contacted, SP Sonia Narang confirmed the news. “We have asked him to file a written complaint in this regard. Suitable security arrangement will be made for him,” she said.
