New Delhi: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Saturday said that the Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led NDA Government has made sure that ISIS is not able to gain a foothold in India.

"The Indian agencies knew that ISIS might spread its hold on India as well. Since the time the NDA Government came to power, we have made sure that this never happens. Our security and intelligence agencies are keeping a check on all such activities. ISIS will not be able to gain a foothold in India," said BJP spokesperson GVL Narasimha Rao.

General Officer Commanding of Nagrota-based 16 Corps, Lieutenant General K H Singh had said on Saturday that ISIS has not yet taken off on the other side in PoK, but are trying to gain a foothold in India.

He had also warned that militants are trying to cross LoC to create problems during the Amarnath Yatra, and assured that any such intentions of infiltration will be dealt with.
