Hyderabad: A fight between two Class X students led to the death of one of them on Thursday. The students, Ch. Nandu, 15, and Kanhaiyya Lal, 15, studying at the Government HS, Shaikpet, had an argument in the classroom over missing notebooks.
The students fought in the classroom after school in the presence of other students. Nandu became unconscious and was shifted to a private hospital at Gachibowli where doctors declared him dead. Police said Nandu was the son of autorickshaw driver Kishan who stays in Shaikpet.
Kanhaiyya Lal is a resident of Tolichowki. On Thursday, after school hours, Kanhaiyya asked Nandu about his missing books. Nandu had no idea of it. He told the same to Kanhaiyya but he did not listen.
“Soon they started fighting. They did not stop when their friends tried to stop them. During the fight Nandu fell unconscious,” said Golconda inspector Khaleel Pasha. Nandu’s classmates informed his parents. They rushed to school and called 108 ambulance.
The parents later took him to a hospital in an autorickshaw where doctors declared him dead. The police has registered a case of suspicious death. On Friday morning, the students informed Nandu’s parents that he fought with Kanhaiyya over notebooks and fell down during the fight.
“My son was killed because of the severe injuries he received. We have complained to the police,” said Nandu’s father Kishan. The police has sent the body for postmortem. “We can be sure once we get the report. Based on that we will proceed,” added Mr Pasha.
