Supreme Court rejects plea against Revanth Reddy's bail
Supreme Court on Friday refused to cancel the bail granted to Revanth Reddy
Hyderabad: Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao’s government and the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) failed to get reprieve in the Supreme Court on Friday when the apex court refused to cancel the bail granted to TD legislator A. Revanth Reddy and the two other accused in the cash-for-vote case.
While dismissing the ACB’s petition, the Supreme Court bench comprising Chief Justice H.L. Dattu and Justices Arun Mishra and Amitava Roy observed that Mr Reddy had been in police custody for four days and judicial custody for 30 days.
The Supreme Court bench said that it would have considered cancelling the bail if the ACB had only a little time to interrogate him. It observed that Mr Reddy’s statement had already been recorded and that he had not got bail the very next day after his arrest.
