HyderabadThe AP State Wakf Board has slapped a notice on mutawalli (caretaker) Syed Akbar Nizamuddin Saberi of Dargah Shah Khamoosh at Nampally asking why his services should not be terminated. He has been given 15 days to reply.

The Board had suspended Nizamuddin in 2014 on a complaint filed by Mr M.K. Hasan for alleged misappropriation of funds and mismanagement of the dargah and also for allegedly selling 85 acres of Wakf land.

After the suspension, the Board appointed an officer to inquire into allegations against the mutawalli, who has since submitted his report. Nizamauddin approached the High Court which disposed of his plea and directed the Board to take action based on the inquiry.

Sources revealed that the Wakf Board was not satisfied with the report in which the inquiry officer stated that the allegations against the mutawalli were not proved. Sources said the Board had ample evidence and records to prove that the mutawalli had sold the lands. Hence the Board said it was not proper to accept the report and issued a showcause notice to Nizamuddin.
