Tiruchy: Residents block national highway demanding water supply
Agitators want to ensure daily water supply for them through taps

Tiruchy: Vehicular traffic on the busy Tiruchy-Dindigul national highway was paralyzed for about an hour, when some local residents of Ramjinagar, Kothamangalam and its surroundings coming under ward 40 of the city corporation resorted to a road roko at Ramjinagar near here Saturday, protesting against the Municipal corporation's failure to provide adequate drinking water to them.
According to Muthuselvam, DMK ward councillor, the Corporation authorities supplied a very small quantity of water to those areas by water tankers for the last one-month. Despite repeated representations to the authorities to ensure adequate water supply through taps to these areas, they did not do so. The agitators want to ensure daily water supply for them through taps.
Upon information, police rushed to the spot, pacified the agitators and restored normalcy.
