Tourism development seminar on July 15 in Vijayawada

VijayawadaIn a bid to focus on the potential of tourism industry in Andhra Pradesh, the Andhra Pradesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry Federation is going to organise a state-level seminar on tourism development in Andhra Pradesh on July 15 in Vijayawada. 
 
The seminar which unites all the prominent role-playing persons in tourism industry and AP tourism department will be inaugurated by AP Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, according to the federation president M. Murali Krishna. 
 
Addressing a press conference here on Saturday Mr Murali Krishna said that the seminar is aimed to tap the potential of AP tourism industry.  Federation’s Tourism Committee chairperson K. Lakshmi Narayana said that the state is following the tourism policy introduced in 1998 and there is need for new policy that addresses current needs of the industry. He said government has already prepared a new policy and hoped it helps the industry develop. 
 
Mr Narayana said that the land lease cost is reduced from 5 per cent to 2 per cent in the new policy and this would encourage entrepreneurs who want to invest in tourism industry. 
 
Federation executive director P. Bhaskar Rao was among those present.
