It’s official: Karan Johar and Ajay Devgn to clash on Diwali 2016

Mumbai: Karan Johar recently tweeted the release date of his upcoming much awaited flick ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’ starring Ranbir Kapoor, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Anushka Sharma. The film will hit the theatres on Diwali 2016.

However the Diwali slot for the coming year was pre-booked for Ajay Devgn starrer ‘Shivaay’, the teaser to which came out in May this year.

With Salman Khan’s ‘Sultan’ and Shah Rukh Khan ‘Raees’ clashing for Eid next year, it is quite interesting to see how the vents will turn out for Karan and Ajay with their big budget releases.

King Khan, however, came out to clear the air of the clash and sporting said, “All the clash that’s going to happen is because of the social media. First, it’s not a clash. There are only 365 days, 54 Fridays; we make 200 films and it’s bound to happen that some films release on the same Friday.”

While SRK also mentioned that both the films have friends involved in the making, ‘Shivaay’ and ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’ are on different tangents.
