Delhi: Shahid Kapoor, the man of the moment, who is to tie the knot with Mira Rajput on July 7 shied away from applying mehendi on his hands during the pre-wedding ceremony. We caught up with the mehendiwalis at the bride family's farmhouse in Chhatarpur. They had been called in specially from Chandni Chowk in preparation for the pre-wedding ceremony of Shahid and Mira Rajput.
Reshma, one of the many mehendi artists invited at the do, had glowing praise for the soon to-be Mrs Kapoor: " She is so sober and simple and so are her choices. She is so delicate, so we decided to put a very intricate mehendi design on her soft hands."
As is the custom, Shahid's initials were also drawn in the intricate mehendi design, Reshma said. "Oh yes, without that (drawing Shahid's initials) no Dulhan mehendi is complete. It is a Shagun and is symbolic of love and dedication towards one's partner."
The venue that was brightly lit and fully guarded was echoing with Bollywood tracks including all the popular numbers of Shahid Kapoor movies. Hit songs of Hrithik, Varun Dhawan and Salman were also part of the playlist. The choreography of the sangeet was done by Bosco.
"Was Shahid upto the mehendi dare?", we asked. To which, she told us that the heartthrob was too shy and didn't give into her insistence.
She also told us that Mira looked dazzling in a yellow lehenga while Shahid had donned a maroon bandhgala and they made for a perfect couple as they danced together and won the hearts of the guests.
