Bengaluru: Finally, there is some relief for commuters traveling through Sony Signal, Koramangala, as a change in the signal timings will allow less waiting time for commuters at the signal.

After a report in the Deccan Chronicle on Monday, highlighting the agonizing wait of commuters at the signal, Additional Commissioner of BTP, M A Saleem visited the spot, took first-hand information and instituted some necessary changes.

M  A Saleem said, “I assessed the situation and spoke to the local police. They pointed out the issues. I too observed the signal timings. Considering the trouble faced by the commuters, we have decided to change the frequency of signal timings for the benefit of commuters.” In fact, many commuters opined that they were surprised to witness the reduced waiting time.

Devika Iyer, a commuter says, “Normally, I am stuck at the signal for at least 15 minutes.  Today, it took only 5-7 minutes and it is very refreshing.” Voicing a similar opinion Shibu Khandelwal, another commuter says, “Earlier every 20 seconds the signal went red and the waiting time was between 5-10 minutes. I was expecting a long wait as usual today, but was taken aback when I got to pass through the signal quickly. This is a welcome change and I hope it continues in the coming days and is not a one day exercise.”
