Indian Mujahideen operative Yasin Bhatkal fears life threat
He threw a letter at reporters covering court proceedings
Hyderabad: Indian Mujahideen operative Yasin Bhatkal says he faces a threat to his life. He expressed this fear in a representation submitted to the magistrate by his advocate.
Creating confusion on the Ranga Reddy court premises, Bhatkal reportedly threw a letter at media persons. His mother Rihana Siddibapa has also alleged that the police might kill her son in a fake encounter. Bhatkal was brought to the LB Nagar court under high security on Monday morning.

While eye witnesses said that Cyberabad police officials took the paper thrown by Bhatkal, the cops and prison officials denied the report that Bhatkal threw a paper. “He has not thrown any letter and we have not taken any such thing,” LB Nagar police officials said.
Prison officials said that Bhatkal cannot write any letter inside the jail. Meanwhile, the court extended his judicial remand after usual proceedings. Officials said that it was a routine appearance for remand extension.
Sources said that in the representation, Bhatkal said that police and media had created a conspiracy to murder him and that his ‘escape plan’ was a complete fabrication. He said that he does not have any intention to escape from jail or have any other escape plans. Bhatkal alleged that the police created the false story to shoot him during transit.
Talking to the media in Karnataka his mother said she feared the police might kill him soon. “We fear for his life. We sense that there is something worse waiting to happen. First they said that he is planning to escape to Syria. What if he is killed in an encounter to make it look as if it happened when he tried to escape from jail? My son had told me in the past on several occasions that the police might kill him in an encounter,” she said.
“We will not be shocked in future if we hear that the police killed him while escaping from jail. We have reached that stage,” Rihana Siddibapa added.
