Hyderabad: An 11-year-old girl, with injuries on her face, was rescued by the State Commission for Protection of Child Rights from her employer at Mehdipatnam. Commission sources said her employer — Fahim Sultana, wife of Ahmed Moinuddin staying at State Bank of India Colony in Mehdipatnam — admitted having “purchased” the girl and had no idea of her background or her relatives.
The girl had bruises over her face, neck and an injury on the head. She appeared traumatised, commission member Achyuta Rao said. “The employer couldn't provide details about the girl and said that she had purchased the girl from someone. The employer will be notified to attend the trial, which will be conducted by the commission,” said Mr Achyuta Rao.
“A team of five cops from Asifnagar police station helped the commission team to rescue the girl. However, the case is being handled by the commission itself and they will prosecute the guilty. The girl has been shifted to a rescue home in Nimboliadda,” said Asifnagar Station House Officer K. Srikanth.
