Telangana medical counselling from July 29

HyderabadCounselling for the Telangana State Eamcet for medical admissions will begin from July 29 and end on August 3, the NTR University of Health Sciences announced on Wednesday. Counselling centres will be setup in Hyderabad, Warangal and Vijayawada. Dates for the Andhra Pradesh medical counselling are yet to be decided. 
 
NTRUHS vice-chancellor Dr T. Ravi Raju said it will be decided on July 13 in a meeting with the AP State Council of Higher Education. The TS Eamcet medical counselling process will be held by the NTRUHS according to a pact between the varsity and the TS government. 
 
The JNTU-Hyderabad will provide the technical support for the counselling. A total 2,550 MBBS seats and nearly 1,000 BDS seats will be available in the state. Of these only 1,575 seats will be available in the Convenor quota for counselling. 
 
About 850 of these are in government medical colleges and 725 in private medical colleges. About 140 BDS seats are available in government colleges and another 400 in private dental colleges. 
 
Counselling including the certificate verification and entry of web options will be completed between July 29 and August 3, vice-chancellor Ravi Raju said. Classes have to begun from Sept. 1. The exact dates for rank wise option entry will be announced in one or two days, Dr Raju said.
