OngoleAn honour killing came to light after four years of the murder on Friday. A man killed his daughter who married her lover against the wishes of her family members. He murdered his daughter with the help of three others. When he surrendered to the police, the issue came to light on Thursday.
 
According to Darsi circle inspector K.V. Raghavendra Rao, the prime accused in the case, P. Venkata Reddy, who hailed from Darsi in Prakasam district residing near Leela Mahal cinema theatre in Vijayawada city and is running a cool drink shop. 
His second daughter Bhargavi, who completed Intermediate fell in love with Vijaya Kumar of Bhramar-ambapuram in Vijayawada. They decided to marry against the wishes of Bhargavi's parents.
 
They went to Amaravati and married on March 26, 2011. Later, they came to Kottappakonda and stayed in the TTD guest house. On coming to know about the marriage, Venkata Reddy along with his friends came to Kotappakonda and picked her up in a vehicle. When Bhargavi insisted she would go to her husband Vijaya Kumar's house, Venkata Reddy opposed her and decided to kill her.
 
He told his close friend Venkata Subba Reddy in Vijayawada and asked him to search for two or three killers. While, coming from Lingannapalem to Vijayawada, Venkata Reddy stopped the car near NSP canal bridge in Kurichedu. When he left the vehicle, the other three strangled her with a rope. She died on the spot. They packed her body in a gunny bag and threw it in the NSP canal water.
 
Venkata Reddy lodged a missing complaint in Kurichedu police station stating that his daughter Bhargavi went to Kurichedu from Lingannapalem on March 26, 2011 and did not return. Since then, he has been crying for his daughter Bhargavi. He has been facing mental torture for some time.
 
He came to Darsi police station on Thursday, confessed to the crime and surrendered. Police arrested Venkata Reddy, Venkata Subba Reddy and taxi driver Kiran. They formed a special team to arrest Rajesh Chowdary.
