Did Saif upset Vikramaditya?
Vikram’s Udaan and Lootera might not have got him an entry into the 100-crore club
A series of failures at the box office seems to have made Saif Ali Khan a lot more cautious of his moves. Word is that the actor has turned down director Vikramaditya Motwane’s next film. Saif, who is currently busy with the pre-production work of Vishal Bhardwaj’s Rangoon, had an informal meeting with Vikram to discuss the possibility of working together. A source says, “Vikram didn’t exactly meet Saif with a ready script. It was just an idea that he wanted to bounce off. For now, it’s not working out but we will give updates as and when the script develops.”
Vikram’s Udaan and Lootera might not have got him an entry into the 100-crore club but it did establish him as one of the directors to watch out for. Both his films were widely appreciated. We hear that the filmmaker is not too happy about Saif declining his offer.
“His style of filmmaking is subtle yet hard hitting. It does complete justice to the characters of every actor working in the film. Saif might not have been convinced about the subject but Vikram is in the process of developing the story further,” the source adds. Will Saif’s loss be another actor’s gain, yet again? Let’s wait and watch.
