Director Maneesh Sharma’s very unusual film Fan starring Shah Rukh Khan, that looks at the relationship between a superstar and his fan, is going to take longer than expected. The film’s post-production is likely to take longer than the actual shooting. A close source says, “The film involves a lot of special effects. There are a many scenes featuring the star and his fan, which involve very complex post-production work. Fan is the most technically complex film ever produced by Yash Raj. The film will therefore be released in April, 2016.”

The source continues to reveal that Shah Rukh won’t be doing the kind double-role that we often see in movies. What the makers are aiming at achieving with Fan has not been attempted in Bollywood before. “He has done a few double-role films in the past such as Duplicate, Om Shanti Om etc, but Fan is nothing like those,” the source says.

Apparently, the makers have taken a lot from Shah Rukh’s personal life to shape his role in Fan. The film will have Shah Rukh bringing into play all his skills in the two diametrically opposite roles. For Shah Rukh to play both the superstar and the fan is a stroke of genius. But fans will have to wait longer than anticipated to see both sides of the superstar.
