Coimbatore: Youth Development Camp for school students in Kovai

About 850 students from different colleges from different districts in Tamil Nadu will take part in this camp

Coimbatore: The Youth Development Camp at the Kumaraguru College of Techonology will help realise the true potential of every student and help them understand that each one is an achiever on his own, said Dr B. K. Krishnaraj Vanavarayar, chairman of Bharathiyar Vidya Bhavan, while inaugurating the four-day camp. Surya Namaskaram and yoga training will be part of the camp, besides students being tutored in discipline, healthy habits for life and empowerment.
 
Kumaraguru College of Technology has joined hands with Vivekananda Kendra, Kanyakumari to conduct the camp that began on Saturday. About 850 students from different colleges from different districts in Tamil Nadu will take part in this camp.
 
Dr B. K. Krishnaraj Vanavarayar impressed on the need for society oriented education system. A teacher is not one who just teaches what is present in the textbook.  Along with what the books teach, he/she should also impart discipline and other ethics so as to mould the students as the best.
 
Treading the path of Swami Vivekananda, the goal of the camp is to create awareness to the youth on Bharat nation’s cultural heritage pride, patriotism, nation and service attitude. Dr Kavidasan, director of Roots pvt ltd, will deliver a talk on the topic ‘Arise! India!!’. 
 
The following day, Krishnajaganathan, writer and social worker, Chennai will talk on the ‘Future of India’ and will have Dr Srinivasan, professor of management studies in Sastra university, Thanjavur emphasising on Indian womanhood. On July 13, the gathering will be addressed by the chief guest Prof A. K. Natesan, Chairman, Excel Group of Institutions, Salem.
