New Delhi: Pakistan's High Commissioner to India, Abdul Basit, on Sunday said that both nations have not yet met to discuss ways and means to expedite the Mumbai terror attack trial, adding that premature conclusions should not be drawn at this juncture.
"I would once again recommend to you to go back and read the joint statement, which clearly says that both sides will discuss the ways and means to expedite the trial. Both the sides haven't yet met to discuss ways and means. So, let us wait and not draw premature conclusions," Basit told mediapersons after attending an iftaar party hosted by Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal.

In a major setback to India's attempt to expedite the 26/11 Mumbai terror attack trail, Lakhvi's lawyer has reportedly said that he will not give his voice sample.
A joint media statement released after the meeting between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his Pakistani counterpart Nawaz Sharif in Russia on Friday outlined that both sides had decided to expedite the 26/11 Mumbai attacks trial, including additional information like providing voice samples.
The joint statement also said that both sides had agreed to hold a meeting in New Delhi between the two National Security Advisors to discuss all issues connected to terrorism.
