Wimbledon 2015: Djoker laughs loud over Federer, clinches third title

Novak Djokovic beats Roger Federer 7-6, 6-7, 6-4, 6-3 in a two-and-a-half hour game

London: Novak Djokovic beat Roger Federer 7-6, 6-7, 6-4, 6-3 to clinch his third Wimbledon title here on Sunday.

Here's how the action unfolded.

Good start from Roger Federer. The man holds to love and hits down his first ace.

The veteran is trying to tire the World No 1 a bit but he too, is a champion who holds to 30.

Djokovic wins 7,000th point at Wimbledon. Can he hold 2-2?

But Federer is on song. Exquisite timing.

An opening for the Swiss after Djokovic hits the net, beyond the baseline missing the volley. Federer breaks to love.

Federer broken. Scoreline 4-3.

Tie break time as both the men lock each other at 6-6.

Djokovic swings the first set in his favour 7-6 (1)

 

Djokovic swipes a forehand winner, holds 3-2

Federer scores 10,000 points in his Wimbledon career. Now, it’s 3-3.

The Swiss survives a set point, scoreline 5-5.

The Wimbledon final is heading towards another tie-break. Federer charges down to hold 6-6.

Federer saves five set points, 7-7. 

Djokovic saves a set point, 9-9,

Djokovic hits the net, 11-10.

Federer levels, wins second set after tie-break.

Djokovic holds 3-1 and the covers come on.

It was a short shower.

The Serb fights back, leads 4-3 in the third with break.

Djokovic closes third set smoothly, 6-4. The Serb is ahead now.

If Djokovic has the last laugh, he will earn his 200th Grand Slam win and enter the club of Federer, Connors, Agassi, Lendl, Emerseon and Pete Sampras.

 

Djokovic moves closer to his title, leading in the fourth set.
