300 odd people took part in the iftar

Coimbatore: Continuing its tradition, the Rose Garden and Annexe Friends Committee at South Ukkadam played host to an ifthar get-together inviting people from different faiths and a host of officials drawn from different departments of forest, revenue and police. 
 
A mega makeshift structure was erected at an open space at the intersection of Rose Garden Second street wherein 300-odd people took part in the ifthar
Haji U. Mohammed Hussain presided over the get together in the presence of C.V.A. Jaleel and N.I. Jalaluddin.
 
Dignitaries present on the occasion included district forest officer (DFO) M.Senthil Kumar, assistant commissioner of police, L&O, Coimbatore West R.Suresh Kumar, ACP (traffic), West Raj.Kanna, ACP, (L&O), central R.Ramesh Krishnan,  B12- inspector Kanagasabapthy, (L&O,) B1 Bazar police station Thirumeni, (L&O,) north tahsildar Mr Ravi, south tahsildar Baby Bala and Boluvampatti range forest officer Dinesh, said a release.
 
Earlier, Moulavi M. Syed Ali Baqavi, Imam welcomed the gathering. After breaking of fast, maghrib prayer was held at the special enclosure followed by an elocution and skit competition. According to the organiser of the function H.Mohamed Abbas, arrangements were made for sahar (pre-dawn meal) for as many as 3,000 persons at the venue.
