VijayawadaAICC leader Rahul Gandhi will conduct a Rytu Bharosa padayatra in Anantapur district on July 24, said PCC president N. Raghuveera Reddy. Launching the poster for the event here on Sunday, Mr Raghuveera Reddy said that Mr Gandhi would interact with farmers and women at three venues.

Mr Gandhi would speak with family members of farmers who committed suicide. The party would also extend compensation to them, he said.
Nearly three lakh people have migrated from Anantapur in the previous year, he said and added that the government was using machines for various government works instead of providing employment to locals.

He called upon the rank and file of the Congress to attend the tour to make it a success. He said all district party in-charges would take part in the tour. Mr Gandhi’s tour would be confined to only Anantapur district and he would visit the capital later, added Mr Raghuveera Reddy.

Claiming that the ruling TD government has neglected the people by not implementing its promises, he said that the Congress would fight for protecting the interests of the people.  Former minister Devineni Rajasekhar (Nehru), district Congress president Kadiyala Butchi Babu, city Congress president Malladi Vishnu and several leaders were present.
