I am in love for four years: Priyamani
Putting an end to all rumours, Priyamani talks about her partner and her plans
Rumours about the ‘that special person’ in actress Priyamani’s life have been doing the rounds for some time. The doe-eyed pretty lady put an end to all talk about her love life on the latest episode of a popular dance reality show, D4 Dance, in which she comes as the judge, when she revealed her beau to be Mumbai-based Mustafa Raj.
Opening up more about her partner, Priyamani told Deccan Chronicle that she has no plans to tie the knot soon. “We have been in love for the last four years and I spoke out about it now because my friends in D4 Dance wanted me to do so. Since Mustafa is a bit shy about being in the limelight, it took me a while to get his consent. So far I am only planning to divulge this much about us. I promise that I will be soon announcing it to the press through a press note,” she says with a smile.
Priyamani got close to Mustafa Raj who is active in event management business in Mumbai during the Celebrity Cricket League matches, when she was the brand ambassador of one of the participating teams. “We were good friends initially and eventually we realised that we gel well. It was I who told him about my feelings for him first. I messaged him, ‘I Like You’ and it took him weeks to understand that I was serious,” quips the actress.
The couple is happy that their parents have accepted their relationship and she says that their marriage will happen with everybody’s blessings. “Our families are happy and we are really glad that they have accepted our relationship. We will be coming together for the grand finale of D2-D4 Dance," she adds.
Apart from being on the dance reality show that has made her very popular in Malayali households, Priyamani is busy in Kollywood, Tollywood and Sandalwood. Her next Kannada film, Vyuha, where she appears as a CBI officer will be released in August. “My character, Gayathri, is a CBI officer and it is an extended cameo role. The twist of film comes through me as the character intelligently solves a very complicated case,” she explains. The film will also be released in Tamil.
She is also having two Malayalam projects and a Kannada movie in the pipeline. “I have signed Kalavoor Ravikumar’s next movie and the other one, I cannot reveal the name. I am also working in Kannada director Yogaraj Bhat’s movie,” she says.
