Bengaluru: A year after Prime Minister Narendra Modi's supporters flooded Jnanpith awardee Dr U.R. Ananthamurthy with money orders, asking him to move to Pakistan for saying he would leave India if Mr Modi got elected, they’re at it again, attacking  an acclaimed Kannada cartoonist this time.

Mr. P. Mohammed’s fault? He published a cartoon of Mr Modi taking a selfie with External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj and Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje, a reference to Lalitgate.

The man leading the charge of the Modi trolls is a Facebook user with the profile name, NaMo Naresh. Creating a wall criticising the cartoonist, he published Mr Mohammed’s mobile number and exhorted all Modi followers to teach the cartoonist a lesson! It’s another matter that the cartoonist didn’t get a single hate call!

Instead, he got an SMS, which ‘appreciated’ the cartoon and asked “whether I could draw a cartoon of Prophet Mohammed.” Mr Mohammed told Deccan Chronicle. Needless to say, that’s not going to happen. As for the Modi trolls, no longer the rage they once were?
