Hyderabad: The authorities have brought down the charges of Godavari Pushkaram special buses to their original fares. Earlier, the fares were slotted at 1.5 times of their original fares which posed difficulties to devotees from lower income groups.

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu instructed officials to do away with the 50 per cent extra on fares which were earlier announced.

Following this, transport minister Sidda Raghava Rao clarified that the additional charges which were announced earlier at 1.5 times of their original fare will not be applicable.

“No excess fare will be charged on APSRTC pushkaram special buses. Only normal fares will be charged from passengers,” said APSRTC Vice Chairman and Managing Director, Sambasiva Rao.
