Arkham Knight’s PC version is not that great
The PC version of the game has a lot of issues to sort out
Arkham Knight is indeed a great game, but its PC version made headlines for all the wrong reasons. It was arguably the worst PC port to come out in recent years, resulting in users taking full advantage of the newly implemented refund service on Steam.
The PC version was shortly pulled from all distribution services. Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment has recently given an update on the status of the PC release, apologising and reassuring fans that the game will not be available for sale before all the issues have been fixed and it meets the superior quality high-end PC owners have come to expect.
The biggest news from this update was the confirmation that Arkham Knight’s first DLC Batgirl: A Matter of Family was not made available to PC gamers when it launched on July 14, 2015 for consoles. Along with the PC version itself, this DLC and all subsequent add ons have now been delayed indefinitely. This is an extremely unusual scenario as the audience that played the game in its current state and purchased the Season Pass, would not get the content that they had already paid for.
This shows that the amount of time and manpower needed to fix all the issues plaguing this version of the game is much higher than anticipated, to the point where they cannot even afford to port DLC to meet launch dates. It seems like fixing Arkham Knight will be long-term ordeal, one which cannot be rectified within the next few weeks or even months. I don’t expect this version to come out before the final quarter of the year.
