Two courts to be shifted to Lily pond complex

Before the end of the month, all other courts functioning at Egmore court complex would be moved to the new complex

ChennaiTwo courts, VI and XIII Metropolitan magistrate courts functioning at chief metropolitan magistrate court complex at Egmore, will be shifted to Lily Pond Shopping Complex (Moore Market) on Wednesday.
 
Before the end of the month, all other courts functioning at Egmore court complex would be moved to the new complex. Complying with Madras High Court circular dated July 9, all courts would be shifted before the end of the month, said S. Chandan Babu, president, Egmore Court Advocate’s Association. In the circular,  the registrar (Management) said that the decision to shift CMM court, offices, furniture and properties, was taken by building committee of Madras high court on July 6 to start renovation of the heritage structures.
 
All courts are to be shifted before July 31. After completing the shifting, CMM has been directed to secure the premises and hand it over to the PWD. CMM has been directed to file compliance report before the Registrar on August 3. It has also been directed to place adequate security cover and restrict all forms of entry into the premises and to remove all seized vehicles, materials, objects in the place to enable the PWD to take up further work in the existing complex.
 
Chandan Babu said Normal work in VI and XIII Metropolitan Magistrate Courts will take place in Lily Pond Shopping Complex On Wednesday.
