Raghavendra Prasad, a former assistant to Karthik Subburaj who debuts with the film titled 54321 says that the movie has been inspired by award winning American-Mexican-French drama Babel. “No, not the story of Babel, I have adopted the multiple-narrative style for 54321 and in that way, it will resemble Babel. The script is based on my real life experiences when I was in college,” Prasad says.

On the title he says, “My film is a psychological thriller with revolves around 5 people, 4 life styles, 3 murders, 2 hours  and 1 revenge and hence the title. I will say that the entire movie happens in 2 hours’ time and is shot as one scene.”

Shabeer who debuted with Lakshmi Ramakrishnan’s Nerungi Vaa Mutthamidaathey essays the menacing villain.Despite the absence of sleaze, smoking, drinking, and vulgar double entendre, the movie has been given an ‘A’ certification. That’s because of the subject matter, or content, explains producer Kannan who has also acted in the role of a psychiatrist. Prasad has also shown his final product to his mentor Karthik Subbaraj, who was appreciative.
