Kochi: Bus rams into trailer, 13 injured

KOCHI: Thirteen persons including 12 women and man was injured in a bus accident near the Kalamasserry on Wednesday morning. The mishap took place around 7.25 in the morning when the bus Anshita plying between Aluva-Thevara Route rammed into a trailer parked on the side of the road after the driver lost control of the bus.
According to traffic cops the accident had occurred when the driver was trying to wipe the front glass with a cloth and lost control of the vehicle. Women standing in front of the bus suffered the maximum brunt of the accident. The injured were admitted to KIMS Hospital near Edappally.
The driver and conductor of the bus ran away from the spot immediately after the incident. Some of the eye witness also alleged that the driver jumped out from the bus before it hit the trailer. Police has registered a case and hunt for the driver is on.
