Actress Rajshree is back after a long hiatus. Rajshree, a discovery of ace filmmaker Bharathiraja, bagged a state award for her debut Karutthamma. After acting in few films as a heroine, she shifted to character roles and did films like Run, Vettayaadu Vilayaadu and Manasellam. She won accolades when Bala cast her in Nandha as Suriya’s mother. After getting married she stopped acting in films, and battled problems with weight.
Now, having shed 20 kilos, a slim looking Rajshree is back in K’town once again in a Bala film. This time it is Bala’s production — Chandiveeran where director Sargunam has roped her in to play Atharva’s mother. “I have a solid role to play in the movie. I essay a doting mother and it is about the bond shared by the mother and her son. There are poignant scenes and an emotional song which will be loved by family audiences. I am confident that this film would be the necessary break in my second innings,” Rajshree says. The actress says she is ready to grab any meaty role — whether it is a mother, sister or other character.
